The weather was not typical for the time of year with clear blue skies for the the first 3 days followed by one day of total rain then one night of force 8 to 9 gales!.Since the whole week was served with South easterlies of varying strengths the suppply of migrants was most welcomed.
Good view were had of this Arctic Warbler in the grounds of the Lighthouse at Sumburgh. It's ironic that the week before this Shetland trip I spent two days at Holme only to get very brief glimpses of the long staying Norfolk Arctic .
